2012 (2009)

2012 is an American science-fiction disaster thriller, it star Josh Cusack, Amanda Peet and Oliver Platt and is directed by Roland Emmerich. In the film, in 2009 Adrian Helmsley, an American geologist, visits astrophysicist Dr. Satnam Tsurutani in Indian and learns of a massive solar flare, which is causing the earth's core in rapidly increase. As accord to this, in 2010 the president of America and other international leaders, plan a survival project to insure human survival. More than 400,000 people are chosen to board the 'arks' made by workers in Tibet.

After Jackson Curtis takes his kids, whom live with their mother and step father, camping in Yellowstone National park, they encounter a radio talk host living in a caravan, who tells them of the polar shift theory that could end the world as we know it. After a earthquake hits Los Angles (where they live) Jackson grows suspicious and rent a plane to rescue his family. This turns out to be a smart move as Los Angles collapses in the pacific Ocean as they fly over it.

The family, after many struggles along the way, finally make their way to Tibet, only to be faced with the task of trying to smuggle themselves onto a rescue ark in which tickets are 1 billion a piece. In the end they all make it by the skin of their teeth in a extremely thrilling fashion.
